It’s been a while since I shared anything for #BookBytes though I have been reading pretty steadily over the last two months. I’ve just been lazy.
The book that’s top of my pile these days is The Night Rainbow by Claire King and it simply demands to be shared. It’s sweet and touching with a five-year-old protagonist who is absolutely endearing. Here’s a quote by her that I agree with whole-heartedly.
“A blown kiss is not a proper kiss. Hugs and kisses should be hugs and kisses, not breaths of air. I am tired of breaths of air and not enough hugs and kisses.”
True, right? Air kisses are so not real kisses. There really is nothing like a warm kiss and tight hug to drive away all fears and sorrows. The five-year-old’s yearning for love is so beautifully palpable in this quote. I’m hoping to have the full review up on the blog next week. Do drop by for a read.

Book Byte is an interesting idea. I read The Kite Runner recently. Loved the quotes. Will try to write a post {However, I shared my thoughts and quotes on Twitter and Facebook}.

The quote makes complete sense to me. The fact that it is coming from a 5-year-old makes it endearing. You have mentioned the protagonist of this book is this child so I am definitely adding this book to my book reading weekly slot. I am up to a project with children’s books (not just picture books) and books about children this year. For now, I have no idea where this project is going to lead me exactly but I will find out along the way.

What a beautiful thing to read, Tulika! I agree. Those so called French kisses are just in the air and for celebrities. The real ones have to have the warmth.

That’s a beautiful quote. I remember reading it on your instagram and was impressed by the meaning and the yearning in those words. And yes, nothings more warm than a jhaddu ki jhappi.
